Fingal County Council is gearing up to mark May Day with lots of fun activities

Fingal County Council is gearing up to mark May Bank Holiday weekend with a full schedule of online activities for all the family.

Following the phenomenal reaction to the Easter Egg-citement egg-stravaganza, plans for another action-packed schedule of activities are currently being finalised.

The Events Department have once again organised and collaborated with Libraries and Heritage departments to ensure there will be lots of fun for youngsters across the county.

The activities will run from Wednesday, April 29 until Bank Holiday Sunday, May 3 and will include arts and crafts, storytimes, a virtual heritage trail, a children’s yoga session (adults can join as well!), a general knowledge quiz and a photography competition.

The schedule will also feature diet tips and recipes from former athlete David Gillick, who is a supporter of the Marathon Kids initiative, which teaches children about the benefits and importance of healthy eating and physical activity.

The activities will be rolled out on the Fingal County Council Facebook channel every day, and the children will be encouraged to post their entries to be in with the chance of winning one of our fabulous activity goodie bags.

Mayor of Fingal Cllr Eoghan O’Brien: “This is another great initiative from Fingal County Council which is adapting new and creative ways of interacting with its citizens, both young and old, during these unprecedented times. These online activities will ensure that the children will have plenty to do at a time when their normal hobbies are cancelled, and I would encourage everyone to get involved.”
